hey buddy, let me tell you about my trip to the doctor today....you know that me and a bunch of other sinners on this board are praying for you every day, and on some days, most all day long....you also know that as a 2 time survivor myself, i am not going to try to blow sunshine, lollipops and unicorn farts up your arse, but you do need to get a load of this:
the wife and i went to the doc's office early this morning for blood work and since i take painkillers, to pee in the cup....in walks some folks that used to be our neighbors for over 25 years in a former life when i lived on the lake and fished every day....she is close to 80 and we could tell that she had lost weight and walked kinda' staggery-like....after she registered, she recognized us and came over and told us her story....she had just completed radiation and chemo for lung cancer( non-smoker) that had spread to the brain.....she still had a tiny spot on her lung that was being watched, but her brain tumor was gone....her doctors told her that there was no reason to not to expect to beat this cancer now, and that spot could very well have been caused by the 35 radiation treatments and there were no plans for surgery and/or another biopsy....tim, her son, was with her and i caught him off to the side to make sure that she was shooting straight, and he said exactly what she said....
pray a lot, expect to live but prepare to die...cancer patients are my family, whether i know you or not, because i have been there....i didn't even expect to live and i prepared to die....cancer was the biggest blessing or my sorry life because it separated what i thought was Real from what was really Real.....
later, i'll share something else with you about a distant cousin of mine, with 4 kids, aged 8 months to 6 years, who was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer during her pregnancy with the baby....she was given 6 months....this is something in its early stage, but now they say that she might be able to live long enough to see her kids grown....i'm telling you man, miracles happen!....see if God has an extra one laying around somewhere

praying for you as well, Bencolman. On that note, I saw on my FB feed this morning that someone I am friends with is having their first chemo session today.

No, My name starts with a B. Thank you OP, I have given it to God and I'm fighting it tooth and nail. Today was my first treatment.

Best of luck Ben. You will be on my mind, man. Let me know if you need anything. I can torment Progressives for your pleasure if you’d like or bring you a sammich .

The good news, if there is some good news in this nightmare, is that the tumor hasn't metastasized. It hasn't spread so our hope is that the chemo shrinks the tumor enough to surgically remove it. That is what we are praying for although I'm willing it completely out of my body. I'm nauseated as I can be right now.
Thank you I'm humbled by the response that I've gotten.

Hang in there, ben. We're pulling for you!

Tormenting progressives would be carrying on our good work and would make me extremely happy. I may be too medicated to intelligently post so seeing you keep up God's work will be a thing of beauty.

I wouldn’t know you if I saw you but know that I am praying for you. I lost my father to cancer when I was 14. It was rough watching my hero turn frail. But that was 30 years ago. Keep fighting and never give up. Make that cancer STTDB!!!!
Posted on 7/27/18 at 3:50 pm to bencoleman
Keep that fighting attitude and stay positive. You can beat this.

I don't know you ben, but I am praying for you. I am praying for everyone out there fighting the good fight. My mom has been battling a brain tumor for three years. One of my best long-time friends is getting really beat to hell right now. Keep doing what you do and know there are more people out there caring about you than you even know.
