I don't recall ever seeing this list before, have you?
Full list is published in today's (Wednesday) paper.

The list is in the public notice section. I don't know why it was listed by the Secretary of State, Kyle Ardoin, I just don't recall ever seeing an inactive voter list before.

Shed some light...

Sounds like it is a way of saying “Hey, fraudsters! Try these names!”

Some context would be nice.

Has the County/Parish purged inactive voters? Is publication of this list intended to make people aware that they have been purged and will have difficulty voting in November?

That seems to be the case.

If so, it seems like a reasonable public service.

amazing isn't it? Your name can be blasted in a newspaper for all the world to see showing your voting history but the cops can't get a perp's medical history because of HIPPA.

I can name at least three names which will appear on the list because they are dead. No amount of notification will change that.

Is that not one of the reasons that registrars periodically purge the lists?

You mean periodically sued when they try to clean up voter rolls.

So, you are suggesting that someone will take this list and go through the tedious process of re-registering these names in order to cast fraudulent votes?

Wouldn't be surprised if they are not on the list.

Dem voting rolls tend to swell when people die.

I'd imagine they've added over 120k across the country since March.

I must admit to being confused.

Do you WANT clean voter roles, from which inactive (and dead) voters have been removed? Do you WANT people to be unaware they have been purged until they walk up and attempt to vote?

Cleaning the roles? Good?
Informing people they got purged? Bad?

I can believe that with two of them.

One was union Dem for life and the other worked in local media as a Dem apparatchik.

Less sure about the third because she may never have switched her registration despite voting hard red for decades.

If you meet the criteria for a purge (typically five to ten years of elections without one vote), you generally won’t notice you got purged for years.

Voter registration isn't tedious. Everything you need to register in Louisiana is public record.

Is this a public service or a paid legal advertisement by the Baton Rouge registrar of voters to purge these voters if they do not confirm their registration?

If your name gets published as a legal advertisement then you have no recourse if your name gets purged because they can point to the legal advertisement as though you were notified indirectly by advertisement.

And, due to this list, you can fix the error by the registrar and be sure that you are able to vote in November with no complications.

That is some evil shite.
