Still a long ways from something like that but corona might accelerate it. California is still an economic juggernaut but if they lose the near monopoly on tech innovation they are in trouble.

I was amazed he decided to build them in Cali in the first place. There's a reason all the other manufacturers got out years ago.

In fact, his plant is formerly GM. Got it cheap as hell, which I'm sure played into it. Along with Musk being a Silicon Valley guy and having the mentality everything good comes out of there.

He's learning apparently. The hard way.

Lets see if Elon truly puts his money where his mouth is and follows through. I won't hold my breath.

I think the end result is more decentralization ala articles of confederation.

Where did he ultimately decide to put the battery factory? I remember Texas being in the running for it.

As long as it’s in the south. Bring good jobs to the south. We have too many dead communities.

That would be awesome! The perfect place in east Texas would be Shreveport where the old GM plant is located.

The problem is the dead communities don't have the workforce for this and nobody would want to move there from outside. If he moves it it will go someplace already thriving with capable people to be hired away from other places.

I was thinking of the economic stratification.

You have a rich elite, and then the poor, with very little in between.

Shreveport would be an excellent choice! That is a excellent suggestion. It would be a perfect match for Tesla. It would be fantastic for the State and stimulate growth along the entire I-20 corridor...that's why I'm sure JBE is burning up the phone to Elon right now. I mean JBE has turned out to be such a pro-industry 3d-chess deep thinker. He has shown himself to be such an innovative leader as governor of this state so far, we can be certain he would leave no lump of Louisiana mud un-turned...right..???

Not saying move it to Cleveland Mississippi but you could put it where communities could travel there.

The batteries are made in NV.

I'm sure with Cali's environmental laws it would be essentially impossible to make them there.
