And they are peacocking big time. It's so cute that they don't realize they lose Franken and pick up one seat they will hold for a very short period of time. The net result THE SAME.

DU thinks they've flipped the state of Alabama for good. It's the funniest shite you'll ever read. I suggest doing it.

they may lose Franken but he will be replaced with an ideological clone

Bama gets a Schumer clone for 2 years who will govern against the will of Alabamians.

If the Alabama GOP doesn't realize why this happened and learn from it about why candidates matter, the state may be flipped.

Louisiana GOP are acting dyslexic about this same thing.

Democrats have this problem national. Hillary and her loyalists don't get it either.

Whichever party figures it out faster will have a big advantage for a time.

I honestly don't care. I don't live in Alabama and my team owns these so I'm good:

Presidency
House
Senate
Supreme Court
Mayor of awesometown

that is important though. all but ensures this is a short bump in the road

Alabama also needs to change its election laws

the DEMs waited until after the primary to unleash this coordinated campaign in a state that wouldn't allow a replacement

plus Roy Moore is fringe af, which was a bit of irony. hell Bama wouldn't even support Trump's guy b/c he wasn't conservative enough

Unless Jones magically becomes a political moderate this seat will go back republican in the next election.

It’s kinda hard to put this on the Alabama GOP when Moore wasn’t their guy to start with. The people chose Moore in the primary and the GOP was stuck with a shitty candidate.

That's the funny part. He basically has to side with republicans politically because he wants to keep this seat. If he doesn't, he knows he loses in 2020.

yeah people are playing very fast and loose with associating things like "Trump" and "The GOP" and "The Alabama GOP" with Moore

Moore was not any of their choice. the voters picked him over Strange, who was the choice of Trump, the national GOP and state GOP

Yep. Nothing more, nothing less. However, I feel JBE will win big in 2019. Who will the Republicans run against him? Jindal? Landry?

Vitter would've won in a landslide with the 2017 Alabama electorate and his only "crime" was that he had consensual relations with adult hookers and that pales in comparison with Roy Moore.

I mean shite Jones only beat an alleged pedophile by a point or two.

All those moderate R's that helped Jones win would've taken Vitter in a heartbeat because he's not batshit crazy and actually competent.

Not if the economy stays like it is or is doing better, he gets some big items passed and there's no foreign policy disaster.

Presidential Incumbency is a hell of drug and extremely difficult to beat.

The problem is DC GOP trying to pick Statewide candidates during the primary.

That’s what got JBE elected in Louisiana (albeit we’re gonna have a local problem when Landry decides to run). The establishment GOP wanted Vitter over Angelle/Manes/Dardenne.

And that’s what got Alabama stuck with a guy that believes in abortions up to toddlerhood.

There is no groundswell of popular support for the political establishment in either party. If anything there’s a rejection of it that the establishment is too tone deaf to recognize.

They do this shite In the primary because they think they know better than the locals - who is “electable.” WTF could be more patronizing??

They also do this shite because they do not live in their states or care about them, and they pick the people who they think will not upset their apple carts.

Unfortunately for us, we have no control over who gets to be in party leadership positions in DC after those same leaders are “owed” by the shitty candidates they put in office.

DRAIN THE frickING SWAMP.
