The officers should be arresting people that are interfering with their duties. Add on resisting arrest as they bounce their asses. Lawyers will definitely be in defense mode and interfering protester gets into the criminal process.
Arresting for interfering should be paramount at this time. OK to protest, not OK to interfere.

How entitled and out of touch with reality does one have to be to try to block a LEO transport, get in the face of the officers, and then come back at them afterwards to give them a "piece of your mind" This is not sane behavior.
