Something I just put together assuming assassin was shooting 55gr ammo:
GOD is in control of ALL things…once 55gr goes past 100 yards, even a 5mph crosswind begins to have an incremental affect…an inch is what saved the Prez.

between 50 and 125 yards the 556 is very flat

Everyone keeps saying an inch.
While true, a turn saved him. If he was facing forward he would have been domed.

But BamaScoop said Erik Prince was full of shite, and that wind wouldn’t have had any effect on a shot from where the shooter was. Surely he knows more than Erik Prince.

Has the weapon identified yet?

Feel like we got lucky he was using a .223/5.56 semi auto vs the alternative bolt action larger caliber.

Would not have made any difference at that distance re: ballistics.

Yes…AR15.
AR-15 is the pit-bull of shootings.
Everyone assumes AR-15 first, then it becomes looks like an AR-15.

It was black and scary.
The media has already turned a negative (a failed assassination of DJT) into a positive (gun control and assault weapons ban)
Never let a crisis go to waste.

Target accuracy is definitely different even at 140 yds with this type of rifle vs a traditional bolt long gun

Idk what Prince said, but based on weather observations in the area there was a 9 MPH wind from the NW, which was almost exactly parallel to the shot angle.

Do we know if it was an AR 15 ?
An AR 7 have that effective range? It's basically a 22 with an 8 round clip.
I'm not buying the AR15 and this guy

Weather data I located showed max wind of 5mph all day. If you have other data, please provide and I’ll recalculate.

It’s also impossible to calculate what as hunters call “buck fever” times 1000. I have to believe it would be almost impossible for a douche like him to control his adrenaline, breathing, shaking, etc.

The head turn saved his life, the bullet didn’t move at that distance.
