Well it actually opens the door to further discrimination against people of all walks of life.
Maybe your pre-conceived racist tendencies are to blame. Not what you think others will do. Again, the market dictates success of a company. Not the government.

Watching multiple interviews with various Arizonan Thug Republicans...it's pretty obvious none of them actually read the bill before they voted on it...you can see it by how much they are now squirming to distance themselves from it.
It's 2 pages. You haven't read it either. Please post text of bill that states the bill is "right to discriminate".
quote:
So yeah, pretty cut and dry...it was an unnecessary bill that further erodes civil rights...kinda the opposite of what they are saying.
quote:
Soon and I mean very soon...you are going to see a new civil rights bill work it's way through congress that names homosexuals as a protected class...and it will be your own damn fault. Because guys like me could have given a shite about all this before the GOP started meddling in it and made it a far larger deal then it actually was.
bullshite. The left are the only ones making this gay thing a big deal. Take the Michael Sam issue. Why were you guys bitching so much over this when the right didn't make an issue of it?

Surely it is just as subject to twisting, right?
certainly. Again, my chief issue with this is not that it changes the level of discriminatory practices that go on every day in Phoenix. Believe me, no law is going to change what I see all the time. My chief issue is the government is backing them with the full weight of the law.
That is wrong.
Will signing this bill allow denny's to kick out the gay man trying to order coffee after a night out with his boyfriends? Probably not, but if the night manager of Denny's decides this guy is an abomination, he now knows he has the full weight of the law to practice his homophobia and bar the door to him and that my friend...is wrong.

Y u try so hard man? U get nowhere
Honestly, no one is changing any minds on this board. A lot of people are trapped in the 50s and 60s with their views on how things should be.
Sometimes the debate is lively and sometimes it devolves into name calling. Either way, it's entertainment...nothing more...nothing less.

I will stop when the prejudiced SOBS stop trying to say their group is better than others and wake the f up. It's 2014 and George Wallace is dead.

So you feel like a minority in this country having to deal with the bullshite they put up with every day...just to live.

So if the local Klansman walks in and wants a cake depicting maybe a noose or maybe a cross burning in a yard, I can't refuse to serve him?

quote:Site the portion of the proposed legislation that does that, it's only two pages I am sure you can do it.

Well I figure you'd be a little bit worried that the guys who normally give you your marching orders are agreeing with me.

I think he gets drafted, but gets cut or ends up on the practice squad...he will be like tebow...and their will be a lot of pressure for whoever drafts him to play him.

Private business has the right to refuse service to anyone. ANYONE they deem fit.
The reason businesses do not turn away or discriminate anymore is because it is bad business, and basically, people aren't like that anymore. And if a business is fool enough to discriminate against a willing paying customer, then that is their stupidity. Word will get out, and said business will fail because of it. We don't need nanny government stepping in telling us who we can and can't serve to.
If i started a business and didn't want to sell my product to NAMBLA, then i have the freedom to not sell to them. NAMBLA can get their product from someone else. It's a free market. Let it be free.

Which restaurants? This bill isn't a mandated, "no gay people can eat in arizona" bill. It simply protects the business from the government interfering, like what happened to that bakery in California.

Fox News Criticizes the Anti-Gay Jim Crow laws.
Again, with the absurd Jim Crow comparisons. Not even close.
This bill is not Jim Crow and in no way how it resembles the state administered, state sanctioned, publicly funded and politician encouraged discrimination Jim Crow was. It simply gets the frick out of the way private businesses conduct their affairs.
Laugh and ridicule everybody all you want but please do not post crap that's completely inaccurate. Or you can just be content with talking out of your arse.

Either one of you going to respond and discuss the ACTUAL TEXT of the bill? I have asked several times for a cite to the actual language you object to.
Why do you focus on any possible argument you can imagine....except actually discussing the bill?
