I've given up trying to enlighten you, but I'm still hopeful others are not so far gone.

On what? What a statist is?
How is a Congressman not a statist?
How is a Congressman not a statist?

The Bill of Rights was not written for buisiness but the rights of people. And yes i would have a problem with the goverment coming into churches and telling them what they cant teach and preach. but we are not talking about churches or individual rights we are talking about what a buisiness can and cant do. so LA Tiger you can call me a statist(i think you ment satist) all you want but dont confuse INDIVIDUAL rights with laws that regulate buisiness

If a gay couple wanted to commission me to paint a picture of them embracing should I be forced by the government to paint said picture? Do I have a right to refuse?

quote:What does this have to do with anything we are talking about? Ron Paul has nothing to do with the AZ Senate. As a matter of fact, he is no longer a Congressman, so by your logic not a statist.
How is a Congressman not a statist?
Did the light come on yet?

I dunno. People are accusing people of being statists like that's a bad thing. Like 99% of the population is statist.

The problem is that businesses are owned by individuals. Businesses are made of and made by individuals. Individuals work at businesses, run businesses, and pay taxes from those businesses.

enough with the "if" questions its not a perfect situation where everyone will be happy. but its a bill that allows people to discriminate and any bill thats allows this is just wrong.

Those poor Christians...so much persecution in this country.

this thread makes me sad for America. The fact that a state would allow buisineses to discriminate is a shame. what's even more shamefull is the amount of people defending the state's right because its there right to discriminate. so lets just appeal civil rights then.
Pretty much.
You know how I can tell this message board is located in the south..

If you have other equal or better options open to you, it's absolutely not infringement. And you know it.
