Nope, not really an apt translation. The tentacles of sharia obviously goes far deeper and far wider than Evangelicals and their blue laws.

You're not welcome. I don't know about supervising parents but I definitely believe an ideological war should be fought, similar to the Cold War.

I worship this woman. Bravest lady alive, as far as I know. I don't need to buy her book or read it, but I will buy it to support her work. Trump should elevate her to a high profile position; she is politically unassailable, and like kryptonite to Jihadis.

Liberals hate her even more because she disrupts their narrative. You wouldn't believe the abuse she gets from the left.

You don't have to make special rules for them, but I truly wish the Democratic Party would wage an ideological war against them, like they have against other religions.

They should be called out at every turn, and you know this.

The problem is, your political party has become a defense mechanism for the most anti-female, anti-homosexual, conservative group on this planet, and that is extremely strange.

I mean it's not preaching if you have some guy giving a talk about Sharia finance at Oxford. Or whining it into inclusion in the CFA curriculum. For example.

A talk about Sharia finance? Horrors! They're indoctrinating those poor finance students with the ability to effectively work with Muslim clients instead of screaming DEUS VULT and hanging up the phone!

So you picked up on the fact that my example was supposed to demonstrate a seemingly more benign situation!

That being said, whether willful in that instance or not, it involves normalizing the entire notion of sharia, which permeates into virtually every facet of life, as is the case with Islam, which is in stark contrast to the Western world.

But I take it you realize the term is more than preaching. Got it. pats self on back

Ever since I first read Infidel, I have been in awe of her life and her ability to adapt to a hellish changing world.

I buy her books to support her and to educate myself.

Why should I care about "normalizing" Sharia in the context of services provided to willing clients? You think teaching how to structure finances for Muslims is an inescapable slippery slope to head-chopping? When can I expect PwC to hoist the black flag?

I do not always agree with you but you are damn good at presenting your point of view.

Much respect.

Because it normalizes the term outright. The problem with the term, aside from the financial context being contradictory to modern financial principles, is that it also encompasses chopping off heads, as you rightly point out. Your slippery strawman sounds ridiculous, but it obviously ignores the graying of this huge spectrum, which is the crux of what Ali is trying to illustrate.

losh doesn't believe in reading or books. He's "progressed" beyond knowledge being any use to him.
