And subsequently executed

It’s not designed to work. They want you not to be able to own an affordable and functional personal vehicle lmao

So why did the companies go along with it knowing it was a planned failure then? Dirtbags telling us what we already knew

They have no intention of giving everyone EVs. The goal is FEWER drivers.
That’s the rub. I’m retired and if I could live somewhere where I could walk to what I need I would love it. That said, I prefer smaller towns and have no desire to live in a NYC type place.

Question for EV owners: how do EVs perform in Louisiana heat when the a/c is a necessity all-day and all-night? Does it drain the battery faster?
Is this a legit question? The impact of using your A/C in an EV is negligible. You could sit in traffic running it full blast for DAYS. Using heat in colder environments, now that makes a more substantial difference. The information is out there if you genuinely want to know.

Just a couple things about Electric Cars that are not mentioned.
Replacement batteries can cost as much as 20 thousand, depending on model.
They are building a 4 billion dollar factory near Kansas City to produce batteries. The factory will be Coal Powered, that's right, COAL POWERED. No mention of that!

I know they're easily damaged near the ocean (saltwater in the air) and perform terribly at higher elevation. It's just a shite product (for the price) at the moment.

It’s almost as if Market really does determine business models

Actually extreme climates definitely effect the range

Auto execs are coming clean: EVs aren't working
Worse thing is that these things have increased auto insurance rates too so people with regular cars are getting screwed. These "execs" need to be responsible...but of course they won't.

selling the Chevrolet Bolt for seven years
I heard a story where a guy needed to get a new battery and its going to cost him $24k cause its an after market cause they no longer make the OEM version.

I know a lot of you absolutely loathe EV's, but they should be allowed to flourish in a free market. Not one that forces anything. Nobody should be forced to buy a Tesla. Ford/GM/Chrysler/etc shouldn't be forced to stop selling gas powered cars or put any caps on them at all whatsoever.
I want to buy a Tesla because I think Tesla's are cool. I want to dive one because I think they're cool. I shouldn't be forced to buy one and you shouldn't be either. But I should be allowed to buy one/drive one. Elon should be allowed to build charging stations wherever he wants to.
If automakers are making money selling combustion engines, they should be allowed to do whatever they want, short of colluding to hurt a free market. It's not popular among a lot of conservative people, but even without the government forcing anyone's hand, EV's are here to stay. If automakers are making money selling combustion engines, they should be allowed to do whatever they want, short of colluding to hurt a free market.

If they'd have gone hard to hybrids, they would have been able to print money. Dumbasses
The Chevy Volt plug in hybrid was the killer app 12 years ago and they completely blew it. 55 miles on the battery, hybrid mode when the battery is depleted. I’ve had one for 7 years, and at times I go months without the engine kicking in.
GM should have expanded that drivetrain architecture into every segment and they would have crushed Toyota’s hybrids and Tesla.
Instead, it went to the dustbin.

The charging infrastructure doesn't exist on a mass scale
They're not range efficient outside of city driving
The most efficient form of EV is sedans which isn't what Americans want. The technology doesn't currently scale up to SUV usability.
People don't want to load up 3 kids and all their shite for a beach vacation and have to stop and keep kids entertained for 45 minutes every 150 miles because the EV Suburban is sucking the juice.

GM has been an early-mover in the electric car market, selling the Chevrolet Bolt for seven years and making bold claims about a fully electric future for the company long before their competitors got on board.
Been a lifelong Chevy guy since my conception, but the stances they've taken since the "Obama bail-out" soured me on the GM brand altogether.
Hopefully they do something to reverse course because I still can't see myself in a damn Ford when my '01 Silverado finally goes tango uniform and I wouldn't be caught dead in a Ram. I guess the Tundra market is there, but I just find them to be very ugly.

Ummmmm, unlike gas cars, electric cars have little to no fall off in performance at higher elevations. ICE need turbo or super chargers for performance at altitude.
We live near the beach, no salt related issues with our EV’s in 7 years.

There are too many problems with EVs to make them a viable option for most drivers. The idiots who pushed for this should face public humiliation.

No fall off in performance, but that’s not the issue being questioned.
Does it lose it charge quicker in colder climates?

They will. Right after those pushing mandatory vaccines are punished.
