Australia: Peak Big Brother has been reached

TL;DR - Pilot program in Victoria where you can receive a call randomly, if you get the call you have to answer by sending a selfie through an app. The app will geo-track the person's location giving health officials proof the person is who and where they say they are.
If the person doesn't respond within 5 minutes, "health officers will come knocking".

I'm not sure that's quite "peak" yet. Peak would be a collar that you're unable to remove that administers a shock if you stray from your permitted location and feeds realtime a/v of you and your surroundings to big brother.

I’ve heaps of Aussie friends. They all agree in saying that the Australian government has fricked this up so bad, that they’re trying to change the tide and pin it on the population.
A good friends father was given a few months to live and it’s been incredibly difficult for him to find a flight to even get back to Australia.

They would kill this immediately if no one in the country ever answered. Program would go broke. Make them play by their own rules.
