It could be though.

I would think so, since none of the other residential neighborhoods (Druid Hills) were included in the annexation

Absolutely

Atlanta has seen a massive surge in quality of life in-town, and a pretty stark decline in suburb quality (IMO).

I can't wait to see the Democratic Convention with everyone wearing mask and being scared. Or, the VIRTUAL convention they have.

What the American people REALLY need to see is 3 debates !!!

Also depends on what parts of the CoA and suburbs too.

For sure. I just mean that overall I think the Atlanta suburbs were in a better spot some years ago. I think certain suburbs have only improved, but a lot of formerly "decent" suburbs are now pretty unappealing

Read an article that said there were close 2,000+ registered voters included in the annexation,so they certainly could've played a part in electing Norwood had they been eligible to vote back in '17.

Gonna be some interesting demo shifts in the city when the '20 census is completed.

I’m becoming convinced that the GOP needs to have as large of a crowd attend as possible. Hold it wherever you have to hold it. People will go.

Gwinnett certainly plummeted in prestige, while the "inner" burbs of Brookhaven/Chamblee/Doraville have exploded.

From what I remember, the DeKalb-in-Atlanta precincts closest to the soon-to-be annexed area voted 70-80% in favor of Norwood. It could've been enough to flip it for sure.

“We want to turn down a massive convention”.

Politics is the worst thing in society.

All the people from Atlanta have been forced out to the suburbs, bringing with them the same shite that made Atlanta a shithole. It’s helped mcceachern and Marietta basketball/football though!

I live in Lawrenceville, GA - about thirty miles ENE of ATL. We have the Infinite Energy Center that hosts our minor league hockey team as well as a lot of other large events. We would absolutely LOVE to have the RNC move up the road a few miles and boost our economy with those dollars. We're not part of Atlanta. Hell, we're Gwinnett County, not Fulton or Dekalb. Lot's of accommodations for lodging and food and nowhere near the crime! Only thirty minutes away, folks. Give us a look!
