I looked at it as entertainment, happy that I don’t live there. I was laughing at them the whole time. And I got the Iron Maiden Killers CD for just 10 bucks so it was pretty worth it.

ATL has been lost a long, LONG time ... to the point that I've begun to believe that General Sherman had the right idea, he was just ahead of his time.

I grew up in Augusta. When I was in high school a classmates family owned a very well known strip club up there. We'd drive up, sneak in, drink sodas. When college hit we'd go to Athens and man those were some good times. As I've aged over the years I've had to catch flights, drive through it or visit it on business. And one thing has not changed since 2000 in my opion.
ATL is a ghetto arse shithole that the entire state of Georgia would be completely better off with out. And the people there regardless of skin tone or economic standing are, well I'll stop there.
I've paid an extra $500 in flight tickets just to avoid a layover there. Anyone whose had to deal with that airport knows how bad it is and how poorly its staffed.

I understand that sentiment for sure but I have no doubt that it’s much worse than it was even a few years ago. Five years ago I was there a couple of months for work in Ashford Dunwoody. On Sundays I would actually take the MARTA to go to Little Five Points and never felt worried or in danger. Of course I did not take it back to the hotel because it was usually night time so I would uber.
No way in hell I would ride MARTA anywhere now.

My fondest memories were of working the farm all day with my grandfather. Then hauling arse home to home made ice cream and watch the Braves. Now I'd rather watch Joe Biden try to talk.

Only thing about New Orleans for that national championship game weekend was the absolute show of Police force (state and government)that was present all over the that area around the dome and French quarter.
This was my experience in Memphis. I had to go for business and heard all the horror stories and cautionary tales. I got a hotel on Beale Street and the police presence was fantastic. There were multiple units on every corner. But if you head a few miles in any direction it was back to being unsafe.

They’ll have to go back to being social misfits and losers.

really have to say I was not surprised at all. Kinda expected it. I used to love Little Five Points. frick that place now. I don’t ever need to go back.
The brainless sheep that frequent those places actually enjoy being subservient, told what to do, how to do it, and when.
What a sad, meaningless existence. I can't help but think back to that scene in "The Wall" every time I see this kind of shite normalized and embraced...

It will be a ghost town soon. Everything will move out.
Too stupid to see what is happening to them and not strong enough to do anything about it. They say its pride but its just stupidity.

For all practical purposes, Little Five Points and Manuels Tavern used to be my home. LFP always had a lefty vibe to it, but that was tolerable back in the day. It's a shame what has happened but it doesn't surprise me in the least.

For the general public that does not fly often I think they may be surprised at the number of major US cities that have absolute terrible airports that are in the same position as ATL. The common denominator is all of them have been the Democrat party clutches for years and years. That party and its constituents for some reason just destroy the very place they have to live and work in. I just don’t understand it.

When the police chief blames 'citizens' for leaving guns in cars as the source for all the gun violence, and then makes statements like " we can't arrest our way out of this " , it's clear there's no will from the very top of the city govt to do anything meaningful to stop crime.
Basically the attitude is " you're on your own ", and that Atlanta will get the crime it deserves until everyone just acts better towards each other.

Fox Bros is opening a new location in Brookhaven. No need to ever go downtown or L5P again

Precisely. And I wasn’t the least bit surprised either.
