There are definitely cabal members who consciously use this abhorrent and failed ideology to garner and wield power (and related: profit).
But I don't believe that's the driving force. Rather, it's a mental, emotional, intellectual, philosophical, and spiritual disease. Or collection of diseases.

I mean the founders of BLM have admitted they are trained Marxist, so there is that.....

I think you just heard the reason from Barr during his interview with Levin on Fox. Dems want to fundamentally change America, and to do so they must tear down the existing institutions. Then rebuild a new socialist global structure. Traditional values and institutions are their enemy, and they no longer see compromise and negotiation as the normal course of governance. All out for total victory.
And to add my take, I believe their plan was ready to go in 2016, and would have been executed with the planned Clinton presidency. The underclass of poor, and the indoctrinated young have been prepped for this for several decades. But Trump came along, a manifest of the values and direction the silent majority truly feel, and unexpectedly upset the well laid plan.
November will tell us if that silent populace is still the majority.
And I believe it is...

Many liberal goals are ultimately self-contradictory. For instance, you can't support Muslims, gays and feminists all at the same time; Islam is the most anti-gay, anti-feminist major religion on the planet.
But ultimately, they want tyranny and the ability to silence all who dare speak against them. I recall a quote, "Inside every liberal is a totalitarian screaming to get out."
