At some point you just have to say - we were wrong

Will those three words ever again be spoken by the lips of the media and the left? I don't think so, thus the reason this country will always exhibit turmoil concerning politics. Not just a nation of political disagreement but actual political vindictiveness. We can't survive in that scenario. Too many people with too many cultures just can't survive under the same roof. We are seeing that now.
America, it was a good run. As with everything in life, you grow to a peak of maturity but then that thing starts aging and the quality starts diminishing. I do believe we have reached our maturity date as a nation.

The Patriot Act is one of the absolute worst pieces of legislation in American history. And a great many people on the right say that. America is not a fight between the left and the right. It's a fight between the government and its citizens. I wish more people would understand that. Because when you look at the vote count for some of these pieces of legislation, they are not divided on party grounds. They more often than not have bipartisan support. Forget what you hear people say in the media, look at people's actual voting records. Once they get to DC, it's all the same shite. Wake up.

America has one extremely important difference between all those other countries. We have freedom, and we have an armed populace. And while it has not gotten to that point yet, if a revolution needs to be fought, I believe the American people can fight it.
The founding fathers understood that power always ends up consolidating back to the federal government. They had the intelligence and the foresight to arm the American people with what they need to fight back. Whether or not we actually fight back when the time comes, remains to be seen, but we absolutely have the tools to do so.
