It’s stupid just like violent movies

Problem is we don’t have institutions in place to hold these people longer. The law allows them to get back on the streets in no time.

HA!

There was a store which used to sell used Nintendo games for like $5-$10. I would cut a neighbors' grass to get the cash and then mom would take me to that store to get the game. We would play it all summer. Weird that those were simpler times.

And the music was better too. Really liked MegaMan 2.

My point is that alienation and lack of meaning is a problem affecting a lot of young people today, and I wonder if gaming might be associated with that.

20 million people play online and you don’t see them doing this.

But I absolutely think they can be a trigger for an already mentally deranged person though.

Anyone who says that violent imagery doesn’t desensitize people to violence is lying to themself or to you.

Is it a one-to-one cause? No. Is it part of a larger picture? Probably.

I always found it grotesque for example that a COD game included committing a mass shooting at an airport

I've played COD and GTA not only for hours, but days over the years. That mission in the airport and the one in GTA V where you torture the guy. Those were just messed up and I felt sick after that.

I don't blame video games, just those missions were weird AF. I'd be concerned about the writers/programmers who wrote those if I was in the intelligence community.

And some people rush to your thread to prove your point

Why not blame video games? Makes more sense than blaming Trump

Now there’s a game that will make you violent.

But seriously, people need to stop bitching about things that others enjoy. It makes me sad that a game like Duke Nukem 3D would never see the shelves today.

But the larger issue is that video game addiction is a gateway to alienation and resentment.

The video game companies must have some dang good lobbyists.

Not only the real ness off the games but the lightheartedness of killing is also done. Fortnite’s style if just slowly disappearing is just as bad as call of duty in my opinion.

it the 1980s again?

This was definitely not the conversation in the 80s. More like the 90s. In the 80s kids were outside just as much of not more than playing Mario or Sonic (and in the late 80s at that).

What about violent movies? What about porn?.. I think people are looking to blame anything and are becoming nanny staters in the process.

Jesus christ. The lengths some of you will go to to agree with literally everything trump says is pathetic.

Trump didn't say anything about video games leading to "alienation". He specifically said violent video games are making people violent.

It's ok to disagree with him. He said some retarded debunked shite

I played the hell out of video games as a teen. I can tell you right now, I can shoot the shite out of some electronic ducks, but would never be a threat against a real duck - my aim is horrid.
