He appeared to be getting older but was in good health. He was still very sharp mentally. No one really questioned his fitness. People that age can drop off a cliff fast, especially if they don't have a disciplined diet and exercise routine.

No one over 75 should hold meaningful public office

He had no serious opposition in the Primaries and was able to use his name and power to push out the people who wanted to replace him. He had a sharp online army working for him and made the most of the "Cocaine Mitch" thing. People also were sentimental about how he had fought to get the filibuster rule changed so that Trump could appoint any Judge he wanted to the SC and so they assumed he would be good to go for another term.

BTW, Trump is Superman and immortal so none of this applies to him even though his circumstances are almost exactly the same. It's only other politicians and humans in general.

Been saying it for years, the older generation held on too long and bypassed the folks in the middle.

We will go from the Boomers right to the Melinials and hasten the US decline

house 2 terms (4 years in DC) then term limited
Senate 1 term (6 years in DC) then term limited
President 2 terms (8 years in DC) then term limited

then barred for 20 years on being a lobbyist

only this will start to fix Washington

should not be a career.....

I blame Kentucky for all of this. Every bit of it. Hillbilly fricks. You all knew what was coming and you couldn't get it together. Now we all have to suffer for your idiocy.

If Gen-X would lead the way in uniting behind one of their own, DeSantis, that would change.
