While the scientific community debates Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb’s bold conjecture that our solar system has been visited by an advanced extraterrestrial civilization, philosopher Susan Schneider, who holds the Baruch Blumberg Chair, Library of Congress and NASA, preemptively upped the ante, suggesting that artificial intelligence exists out in the Universe, and it’s billions of years old.

“I do not believe that most advanced alien civilizations will be biological,” says Susan Schneider of the University of Connecticut and the Institute for Advanced Studies at Princeton .”The most sophisticated civilizations will be postbiological, forms of artificial intelligence or alien superintelligence.” Schneider is one of the few thinkers—outside the realm of science fiction— that have considered the notion that artificial intelligence is already out there, and has been for eons.

Not Carbon Based But she suspects something stronger than this: that they will not be carbon-based. Uploading allows a creature near immortality, enables reboots, and allows it to survive under a variety of conditions that carbon-based life forms cannot. In addition, silicon appears to be a better medium for information processing than the brain itself. Neurons reach a peak speed of about 200 Hz, which is seven orders of magnitude slower than current microprocessors.

What if the things in our sky (UAP) are the intelligence?

The current transhuman push may be to model this evolution...

Ponder transgender movement (gender does not matter)
Ponder masks/isolation and other dehumanizing mandates
Ponder expanding surveillance state and wireless infrastructure

PS: I am hoping Ridley Scott makes the Engineers (from Prometheus) makers to be machine based. That would bring the David/synthetic life form full circle...

Does not conflict with simulation theory.

Daily I’m reminded that we live in a world with almost no intelligence. Therefore, I would welcome any artificial intelligence.

As Time is relative, "there is nothing new under the sun". The Trans-Humanist Movement is strong on Earth, TP; and likely to move forward, as it is the rational/logical path for 'Worldly' Humans who value life. Just like Orwell's "Animal Farm" it is a/the logical path for Egalitarian Ideologues. That said, being Human, has a particular and unique set of limited - but desirable - characteristics. Characteristics that would be lost in any expansion of either personal perceptive power (data storage/hard drive potential) or even Aesthetic wise. Being relatively small, and perceiving something big...has perceptual (Feeling) advantages.

The 'Singularity' is likely the end (or beginning) for those who go the Trans Human/non-Human route. They say "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence"...also..."I will take the wise in their own craftiness". For me, they can have my share of the Singularity; think I'll stick with my 6 yr. old Granddaughter and the God/Default version, though it's painful and hard sometimes. Of course, believing that I will live in this Human realm...forever so, alters perception. Moving 'up' and changing names/bodies/scenarios in an eternal Human exploration of possible life scenarios...is pretty appealing. All scenarios being manifestations of MY own choices, values, beliefs, will and action. For me, that will be 'Heaven'. If the Good Lord grants my heart's desire.

That said, I plan on having Jesus in my back pocket; for the duration. And have zero objection or inclination to abandon the role of humble servant. I like it. God's own...will.

Building up toward the Big One.

Good work.

Our brains will never develop into entities that enjoy isolation. The fact that you’re referring to communistic demoralization as a “transhuman push” is insulting to the millions who’ve died at the hands of the same authoritarian bullshite we’re currently watching unfold

There aren’t any aliens. It’s amazing that the same people who absolutely berate Christians for believing in a God they’ve never seen are going full-tin foil-hat-conspiracy-nutcase over “””aliens””” that no one has ever seen or received any evidence at all of their existence

Yeah. WE...ARE...'aliens', from the perspective of other Lifeforms. You might like to peruse "The Fermi Paradox" to imagine the odds and likelihood of there being other Lifeforms out 'there' far more complex that Humans. Or not. To each their own.

Totally agree re the "enjoy isolation" thing, F; though I do believe that absolute value/worship of Absolute Narcissism (think You-Know-Who ) wherein ultimately all that exists will be said Individual's 'perceptive base' (I.e., said Individual)...and all and anything derived from that perceptive base will not be 'real'...but rather phantom's of said Individual's narcissistic imagination. For a loving Child of God...THAT indeed would be Hell.

Divine sparks trapped in matte, with a warning that the divine faculty of nous can be caught in the trap of simulation, the mirrored matrix of our self-deception.
