That Hyundai plant in Georgia probably had more illegal employed there than every farmer in LA combined

The construction industry employs 100x more illegals

I am referring to all agriculture jobs in the US, historically. Do you not realize how many migrant field workers have been employed in the state of California (the #1 producer of agriculture in the US by far) only over the last 100 yrs? Illegal Agri workers west of the Mississippi alone would dwarf illegal construction workers.

This is according to AI

The construction, accommodation and food services, manufacturing, and agriculture sectors have the highest percentages of undocumented workers in the United States. For instance, construction and agriculture are often cited as industries with the largest shares of undocumented labor, with some estimates placing the percentage of undocumented workers in construction at around 14% or higher and in agriculture at a similar or slightly lower rate

You lack originality and creativity. Every time you post, it’s just a copy/paste from something you’ve already posted.

You’re an angry old man. Your opinion is as meaningless as your existence.

But I do love that my post triggered the absolute frick out of you. It must have hit close to home.

Crop insurance basically lets you break even on your costs if afflicted by droughts, hail, or other natural disasters. This is designed to help keep farmers going out of business due to those factors.

This is what I figured based on some of what I’ve seen. The problem with that is a business doesn’t succeed if all they can do is just match cost of that isn’t including the farmers mortgage and being able to put food in the table.

The construction industry has the same history
The illegals doing those jobs just didn’t come from south of the border - they came from Europe

Rice farmers in Louisiana would have folded years ago if not for crawfish.

Some of them have and are now growing sugarcane. There are a whole lot of abandoned rice dryers in SWLA.

Does crop insurance assure full value of your crops? I highly doubt it.

It's not based on the actual planted value. Needs to be, but that would require the government actually fixing something after 50 years of having it fricked up.

That was the easy assumption.

"I've always suspected you were"

Why be so suspicious when someone is clearly over the target?

I see I struck a nerve.

I'm from five generations of farming here in SWLA. Suck it douche. USA rice is a drop in the bucket globally. Cry me a river.

With 0 help from the govt US grows the cheapest rice

Explain that one to me please. How is it the cheapest if we have to subsidize it for it for you to survive?

Are you this fricking stupid
If every country dropped subsidies today US rice would be cheapest because we are the most efficient producer
India subsidizes ten fold compared to US

Corporate farming entities will pick up the land on the cheap and bump up the price of whatever they produce. It's the American way.
