Exactly, nobody owns XMAS.

It us a made up holiday anyway.

If lil man was even born, much less on whatever commercial day celebrated.

If it is that special, why do we get 2 paid holidays off for Thanksgiving and only 1 for Xmas?

Freedom of speech and religious beliefs are great

That's what this country was founded on, religious freedom. Believe or not.

Happy Santa Claus Day (leave Christ out of it - he was never in it to begin with)

When the Unconquered Sun is made low, and is at is lowest point on the horizon for three days during the winter solstice, it is then resurrected after the third day to begin its ascent higher in the heavens each day. Happy birthday Unconquered Sun…

You've always been allowed. If someone gets offended they can pound sand.

Keep Christ in Xmas.

Xmas was the shorthand abbreviation by English monks and scribes as far back as the 1500s. It’s not an “X”. It’s a Greek letter that this board can’t display pronounced kind of like “kai”. That Greek letter was universally used as a symbol for (pronounced like “krees-TOSS” with the k sound like the ch in the Scottish word loch and with the r trilled like in Spanish). It’s very much a Christian symbol and has Christian origin, and is not a modern attempt to take Christ out of Cristesmæsse - literally Christ’s mass.

Christians who get bent out of shape over “Xmas” are simply ignorant of the long Christian history and origin of the term. Christ is the “X” and is much more of an original representation of Jesus than the English word “Christ” which doesn’t even approximate the full Greek word.

ETA the image of the Greek because this site doesn’t display Greek script correctly.

How petty and insecure must some Christians be, to refuse acknowledgment of that fact and to refuse to share simple friendly holiday greetings with members of those other religions?

I'm not deep into analysis of this problem, but in my experience the problem seems to be the recent wholesale mockery of anything religious coming from the DEI/trans degenerates.

Merry Christmas!

The photo you posted mixes up the two gospels. The star rising is only in Matthew, while the shepherds are only in Luke.

I know that every Christmas light display or drive through up north is now called “holiday lights.” I always ask them, which holiday are they celebrating? Thanksgiving or new years
Same with the tv commercials/internet saying holiday gifts instead of Christmas gifts

Well, as long as you are at home with all of the lights out and in complete darkness, you can hide made a couch-pillow fort, cover it with a blanket and wish yourself a Merry Christmas.

Otherwise, stick with Happy Kwanzaa, just to stay in the safe space.

Saying "Merry Christmas" makes people feel unsafe and threatened, so, we can't have that.

You don't want to threaten people, do you?

Christmas is being outright banned in several major cities. Do you think that’s somehow ok?

In all seriousness, is your Christianity so fragile that it can survive only when given complete societal exclusivity?
Wow, you've got all the condescending quips, don't ya?
So, your answer is "yes?"

Let's stop with the BS hyperbole. NO ONE is prohibiting you from saying "Merry Christmas."

You are just triggered that a lot of people are choosing to use an alternative greeting, which is not exclusively Christian. That sounds pretty damned "fragile" to me.

in many cases the term 'Merry Christmas' is frowned upon
Nonsense.

The only time when "Merry Christmas" is "frowned upon" is when some bigot insists upon using that greeting with someone he KNOWS is Jewish or Muslim, just to irritate them.

Yes, that is intentionally rude and thus boorish.
