The USA is helping Israel wage war against Iran such that the USA is at war with Iran.
Iran knows that the USA and Iran are at war.
We Americans must all realize that we are at war with Iran.
We must know that war means war and that the level of war is not completely under our control.

I don't see how we're helping Israel wage war. 
and if we are, I hope we stop it because I don't support it.

Nope, but you would never know it with all the anti-Israel types running around here starting posts screaming about how we all want to send Americans to die for Israel. Pretty funny to watch, actually.

This is speculation and wishful revisionism. By the end of 1963, there were around 16k US troops in Vietnam. Mid 1963, JFK authorized a withdrawal of @1000 troops, which many saw as a political move. Then, what would be an escalation, gave operational control of activities in Vietnam to the DOD starting January 1, 1964. The personnel prior to 1964 were advisors, support groups, and special forces basically run by the CIA. We put the DOD in charge, backed a coup, and seemingly were looking to send ground troops in 1964.
Seems no one will ever know if he would have left SE Asia.
