quote:I have a 2007 2500HD (gas) that is not my every day. It only has 130,000. Bought it used in 2012. It has a 5th wheel hitch so I assume it did a lot of pulling prior to my purchase. I have 5th wheel that weighs 12,000+ but I don't really pull it anymore. Need a diesel to pull comfortably. Never had anything major to go out on it.
My 2001 Silverado 1500 is still my daily driver.

Chevy is putting turbo four bangers in the Silverado. Good times are over.

I am sure people during the depression were asking the same thing.
However, the good times of the 80’s(for me) are over.

Culture changes forever. As an older person I know that my life is much easier than it was in the 50s. But there are cultural changes for the worse that will not correct themselves.
Some things were important, like safety. We didn't lock our doors and we left the key in the car. People didn't steal simply because it was wrong.
Some things were small. Women never used profanity. Males only used it around other males, never around a woman.
My wife uses the 'F' word every day when our Border Collie hides her socks under the sofa.

They have to be made by hard times first. Guess what part of that cycle we're in.

They are being created. Kids being born today will grow up in the collapse, and it will make them hard. When they grow to adulthood, they will create the good times. It takes a generation.

Those prices are tanking too. There is nowhere to hide your money right now.

In the 1950s, we didn't have a certain demographic who glorifies behaving like they're in a third world war zone.

They didn't behave that way because they lived with their dad (who had a job) and they didn't want to get the belt.

Good times will return but not before 2025.
