Agree. I think they let him stay in office (should he win) for 6-12 months before going to him and telling him to resign or else be removed via the 25 th A.

I have been posing this as the most likely scenario for several weeks. It makes sense. Put the old white rich guy up there to win the spot, then force him out and let the handpicked VP who could never have gotten elected on their own in the chair.
