I still don't know why they didn't just repeat Reagan's Tax Bill. It worked the best in US history, why not repeat it? I don't know who changed it, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, O'Bama. Or Congress in sneaky bills.

Any updated whip count on where the traditional holdouts stand. I'm thinking Murkowski, Collins, McCain, Corker, Flake, and Johnson. I think it'll have some defections in the house, but they won't amount to much. In the Senate I'm not as confident. Collins and McCain have specifically said that their vote to move it to conference wasn't an automatic endorsement. But it looks like the Senate got much of what it wanted, so I don't suppose they should have lost anyone.

I am best pleased. Dems have to say this bill kills transgender babies because they know it's going to light a huge fire under an already nicely boiling economy. They can't stand it when taxes go down and revenues go up, because their economic policy goals are not about economics at all. They are about social engineering and increasing dependency on government

This can't be repeated enough. It should be taught in public schools.

If they didn't have the votes, I would have hoped they would not have produced the conference agreement. Unless some Senator decides to grandstand (looking at you Cruz or Rand) this should be fine.

It's these posts that prove you really were a state senator.

Trump just said ‘more of the same’ if they pickup some senators in 2018.

That's good conventional wisdom, but they let healthcare reform get killed on the floor in dramatic fashion not too long ago. That doesn't happen to often anymore either.
