The NFL has not renegotiated their tv deals in the last year, hence they haven't lost any money from loosing tv customers. Yet.

Only game that cord cutting would affect is Monday Night Football on ESPN. Everything else is on free over the air networks Fox, CBS, and NBC.

You do NOT need an "HD" antenna. Antennas are based on frequency application and have nothing to do with how the data is transposed onto that frequency. A 50 year old antenna will work just as good as a new as the frequency spectrum for OTA broadcasts has not expanded. It has actually contracted.

They had to give quite a bit back but I don't think they actually gave money back. I think they paid the debt by providing free advertising for those that were owed.

The NFL needs to go completely a la carte, offering all games as pay-per-view for a reasonable charge, say 3.99 or 4.99, and also offer bundles like "Week 7" or entire season passes, etc. Offer this across all providers who are interested, and they can still black out games that are on broadcast or cable TV in your local.

Maybe, but cutting the cord is a legit reason for ratings being down. Taking that into consideration, the NFL has probably lost a lower percentage of viewers than the rest of cable television.

Seems to be about the same case for NASCAR. At the first of the season I remember seeing one of the top five drivers, an older one that I can't recall the name, but he said his team was losing their major sponsor at the end of this season.
Fandom seems to be be well below normal this season.

Bet the ratings are really going to dive going forward. Especially if Facebook quits blocking people attempting to share boycott info.
