They'll probably give the money to Planned Parenthood of Texas or something and call it "storm relief."

It’s widely known that the supplemental power provided by solar and wind were the issue.
The fossil fuels may supply 75% but if the other 25% gets shut off then you are going to have issues.
It’s widely talked about
Abbott even admitted they had issues with Gas and Coal plants as well.

She probably charged $999,999.00 to deliver $1 to texas.

So you prefer a technology with a 50% failure rate instead of a 35% failure rate?
To put it simply: would it be better to be all wind or all fossil?
If put simply, all fossil right now.
Less simply, there should be a mix - diversity is good for any portfolio. When wind doesn’t blow, you need fossil. To lessen the impact of fossil, you need wind and solar. BUT - we see that all of them have their flaws in certain climate conditions if the infrastructure isn’t there, so if we are going to have any of them we need to invest that they work when we need it most.
Fair?

Wind overperformed expected output: LINK
Woddfin said about half of wind generators in Texas were out of service during the worst of the storm, but the half that were in service “were actually producing more output than what we counted upon in our seasonal assessment from the whole fleet during winter peak time conditions.”
The correct answer is...it’s complicated.

$1 million more than Cruz has come up with
frick em both and their money. Both are the worst of the worst that either party can offer.

Actually taking a vacation and not using power from the grid is much more useful than money that cannot buy heat right now.

Somebody must be held responsible for this sudden emergency we were all unexpectedly forced to endure.
Now, they are trying to permanently raise our electric bills to cover for the cost of “lost power” — WE should not have to hold the bag for monopolies like ERCOT who hide behind private company clauses to avoid federal regulation. OUR taxpayer money should NOT be used to bailout billion dollar corporations who choose to line their pockets while we freeze & while people die.
