The state dissolved her company, Brook Avenue Press, in October 2016, presumably due to its failure to pay corporate taxes or file a tax return.

We have a franchise or margin tax here in Texas. The entity has to have greater than $1MM in revenues to trigger it though.
I don’t do a ton of work with New York State but they do have a partnership or LLC tax simply for existing If I recall correctly.

No, that tax I think is on gross and not net income
