The problem is in the perception of reality: Unlike Africa the Western Hemisphere was never ever an African dominated society.
The media is trying real hard to change that and one day history books in school will say it was.
Why blacks can’t swim as a stereotype? I don’t know but it’s true I made WSQ in boot camp along with three other Blacks in my platoon but they were from the islands and like me swam like the fishes.
The ones from the big cities got the hook time and time again but eventually they learned to float and some became good swimmers.
Where I grew up all kids were taught to swim by our recreation department at a young age.
The media is trying real hard to change that and one day history books in school will say it was.
