I have noticed something interesting over the past 30 years or so, that I am sure you have noticed as well. No matter what a person’s background is, they are an authority on World War II, Hitler and the Nazis. In most people’s minds, the “truth” about this particular war is completely known, there is no debate, good vs. evil, good won, the end. Yet if you ask them if they have heard of the Gleiwitz incident, for example, they draw a blank stare. For 70+ years now, we have been bombarded with a media barrage of a very simplistic and one-sided version of WWII, so much so, it has given millions of people all over the world, the confidence to claim to be an authority on this war, and that there is no need for debate, as it is an open and shut case. It has been called “the good war”, the one war we can all count on to clearly show us who were the good guys, and who were the bad guys. The problem with this narrative is that it is not based in reality at all. World War II was not a Hollywood movie like we were lead to believe, fought on a Hollywood set, but rather a very complex series of events that we are still feeling the effects of today.

The Nazi comparison has some valid points. But there is another way to look at this time period- The Nazi rise was a reaction to the communist ideology that was spreading after WW1. Laws were not being enforced, economy was in the crapper, German nationals were being blamed for everything.(sound familiar yet?) . In the 1920-1930s elections, people were forced to choose the lesser of 2 evils, and were leaning more socialist to move away from communism. So The Nazis rose to power as a pushback and better option than communism. Then you get a charismatic leader who works his way to the top and everyone can get behind him, maybe they didnt agree with everything Hitler said or did, but they were tired of being vilified by the communists and were ready to take the country back, and this guy was standing up to them.
So the blow back from all the lunacy we are seeing could be even worse if this continues to go forward.
Trump's popularity shows you how hungry middle America is for a leader to stand up to the media and globalist agenda. (and im not saying we shouldnt- i voted for and supported Trump), but the way some would have blindly followed him is scary too. the fear is that we could fall off in the other side of the ditch because we dont have the checks and balances in government anymore as each side gets more and more polarized. The SC , justice system, FBI, CIA and both houses only playing politics and not doing their jobs for quite some time is the cause.
