They included this on one of their mailers:
quote:

“Heaven has a wall, a gate and a strict immigration policy. Hell has open borders. Let that sink in.”

And of course some panties got all wadded up:
quote:

Dozens of people have since called out the store for the circular, with some calling it "disgusting” message, vowing to no longer shop there.

quote:

“Nice ridiculous political message. I guess y’all don’t have foreigners in your heaven. Disgusting.”

quote:

“Y'all just had to get political huh?”

and of course
quote:

“Christian Values??...What does this mean, Sir?? I’m so confused. You have MILLIONS of people from every walk of life who support this business. If a Christian would conduct themselves like this I’d hate to encounter a siner!!! Shame on you Mac’s SHAME!!!! God said THOU SHALL NOT JUDGE!!!! He also said to treat people the way you want to be treated. I’m so disappointed.”

The message also had some fans....so there's that.

did the full message also say "if you don't agree, don't be caught dead here"?

or "we will refuse to serve anyone food who doesn't think the same way"?

He's speaking from a religious standpoint and has always included religious-type sayings (including scripture quotes) in his fliers.

I think it’s silly for any business to go political even if I agree with them. I don’t think they should not be allowed to, but I do think it’s a bad business model to follow.

I think it’s fricking stupid. I also think it’s tailored to his demographic.

I don’t care what he says. I don’t live in Louisiana anymore but this message wouldn’t stop me from picking something up there because I don’t really care about people’s religious views one way or another. I’m sure he will get high praise from those more aligned with the church even though they can’t see the hypocrisy.

Everyone is entitled to their views.

But it was OK for those complaining that Starbucks, Target, Keurig, Gillette, Dick's, Nike, etc. forced a political message onto them as customers? amirite?

Where are you getting this from?

Most people I know didn’t give a shite about any of those things. I still rock Nike because Nike makes good products. I don’t give a frick about who they support so long as it doesn’t harm anyone else. I don’t frick with Starbucks really so I’m not sure what you’re talking about, but I don’t know anyone who cared one way or another.

Target, Gillette, etc. I really think y’all are getting fed BS because I know very few people who could be bothered to have an opinion on what some corporate entity tries to bestow upon the public.

Not really......if a company wants to post their political message that's fine but expect some backlash when a company like Dick's shits on it's biggest customer base.

Take the NFL; they can promote all the fake as socialist narratives they want but I can turn the channel.

And frick Nike in the arse

Mac's is a small grocery store chain with very religious owners, much like Harvest. If you walk into a Mac's or Harvest, you'll here Christian/Gospel music playing over the speakers. People can get mad all they want. It won't hurt their business much, because the one's bitching aren't shopping there anyway.

Wow, that made it all the way to Fox News? Big score for Mac’s.

I shop at the local stores pretty often. Reggie and his family do a lot for local organizations. They’re good people.

Are you aware of the demographics of where Macs stores are located? It's very conservative/religious.

This will probably GAIN them more customers.

WTF?

I was clearly pointing out that the people offended that Macs supports the wall, are the very same people that say boycotting Nike, Starbucks, and Target is ignorant

Like you just did

Except I wouldn’t boycott macs. I simply don’t care. I’ll still shop there if I need to, but it doesn’t matter to me.
