Anyone else feel like the “intellectual dark web” is full of hucksters?

Jordan Peterson - has parlayed not using ridiculous gender pronouns to YouTube lectures, a potential online college, books, etc. I’ve heard him on Rogan a half dozen times and couldn’t tell you where this guy really stands politically. He says some things that are common sense (men need purpose, trans stuff is out of control) and people go nuts
Shapiro - the king of “facts don’t listen to your feelings” has melted over Michelle Fields, kids in cages, Manafort, etc. Pretty sure he would straight up tell you he preferred W to Trump
Candace Owens - lol. She was doxxing conservatives two years ago and is now some champion of black Republicans. Even though she can’t properly articulate a conservative position on something as mainstream as climate change
Milo - probably the worst one. I don’t think he genuinely believes anything he puts out

Since when are the latter two in the IDW? They both lack any aspect of the “I”.
Also, is their goal to let you know where they stand politically? I’m not a fan of all of them and certainly disagree with much of what some say, but you may be missing the point.

I like Peterson despite his love of the tribe, but the rest are clearly grifters, attention-seekers, and worthless conservathots.

I roll my eyes when I see a Candace Owens tweet.
Shapiro just isn't as smart as he thinks he is.
Jordan Peterson is pretty good but he is a little too utilitarian for my tastes.
I actually think Milo is great because he truly understands culture and the nuances, trends, effects, subcultures within it. He is unfairly treated imo.

What a silly-assed term.

I think Peterson has some good points as they relate to allowing boys/men to grow up without compromising their natural masculine instincts. Have no clue where he stands politically.

Suffers from two different problems, Ron Paul Syndrome, and also doesn't particularly stand for anything other than he doesn't like trannies.

Shapiro is what would happen if you took a republican from 1996 and put him in (current year) and made him really really angry.

Not a conservative.

4chan made flesh. Gay, jewish, and a coal burner but secretly HDNW. Can't make the ends meet for his philosophy and is pissed at the world about it, so he amuses himself and others by using his ****ry and coal burning as a shield to tweak people he hates.

Owens is a fraud. Her interview with Rogan was extremely cringeworthy

The internet has completely killed any faith I have in any 'journalist' or 'media' of any type for any sort of reporting or opinion piece.
It's a cycle I've identified:
The internet creates New Media stars
the Media Star gains a following
They put out more content because it increases their exposure and money
Familiarity breeds contempt
Once you're overly familiar with them, you realize they have no special knowledge or insight
It's just like having a few guys over in your garage and arguing about politics.
The final step is realizing "Why am I engaging in a one sided discussion where they lecture me and I can't give my own equally valuable opinion? This is a waste of my time."

An autist would not be able to reconcile supporting walls in Israel and opposing them in the US. Ben is just angry and dated.

Short answer - yes. We live in a time where many people are rightly questioning the media and the government. The problem is that they have merely started trusting hucksters, who are often even less reliable that the media and the government.

I like when Peterson sticks to things like childhood development or insight into women and the workplace. When he acts like some kind of anti-leftist hero, I Tune him out

I think Rubin and Sam Harris are authentic and genuine.
Rogan is an entertaining show host and not much more. I enjoy listening from time to time.
Shapiro is a whiny religious zealot. I laugh every time he states that it's the duty of men to protect women. If that dude is any woman's last hope for protection, I feel sorry for her.
Milo is what he has always said he is - a provocateur.
I go back and forth on JP.
All of the above are, in their own ways and for different motivations, soldiers for free speech, and I support what they're doing even if I don't necessarily agree with them or think they are entirely authentic.

They are gatekeepers meant to funnel people who think they are being edgy into not thinking too critically about certain subjects. They are are a joke and possibly controlled opposition.
