I'm wondering what's driving it. The etf might have pushed it over the top in the last few days, but what are the other drivers?

Bunch of people from gchina buying it?
Illegals sending money back to Mexico and South America?
Uncertainty with the election and Trump regime?

When did you start mining? Also, how much money do you have in equipment.

Buying drugs, at least in America. According to some of my friends in Latin America, a lot of businesses take it and prefer it over their native currencies (though the dollar reigns supreme). One buddy even has a bitcoin ATM card.

I'm not cashing out. I use them for certain purchases, but I am essentially hoarding them in the off chance that they truly become widely accepted in many sectors. If that ever happens, I'll be filthy fricking rich. If not, oh well, I've more than made up my investment already.

VIX has risen several times when the market has been up. That's rare. We're not necessarily in a favorable commodities climate and gold and silver have both quietly had runs. VIX outlying contracts are touching 15.

Institutions are buying insurance, and speculators are speculating on a future correction.

I suspect that's part of what going on with bitcoin as well. Not all of it, but I'd bet part of it.

It seems like the currency has a much more solid ownership base this go around to where you won't see a price crash like last time it surpassed $1200

It's us exchanges leading the way up instead of okcoin or huobi like normal. Weird trend last couple weeks... bitfinex is killing the volume, but after their incident several months back i avoid like the plague.
