So what? There were two, separate FBI investigations on HRC during her campaign and no SC. The investigation was so badly bungled that it likely caused her to lose, so why didn't the media howl for a SC like they did for Trump? I know why.
If the media demands it, it generally happens. They went full retarded on Russia and Sessions pussied out, leaving Rosenstien to make the call. It was all public pressure fueled by the media. We now know that the FBI wasn't even investigating Trump. It was all fake news from the start.

If it wasn't, the ratio of negative to positive stories wouldn't be nearly as lopsided, and that is taking into account Trump's overall shittiness as a person.
Reporters would do their due diligence prior to releasing stories that are potentially damaging to Trump if they didn't have an agenda.

When democrats say fake news they generally mean websites that make bullet point stories that are shared on Facebook with no backing.
When a Republican says fake news they usually mean, an unsubstantiated politically driven news report.
When a Trumper says fake news, they mean any story they don't agree with. What version of the definition are we using??

I'm not sure this is totally true. I might agree with you saying that it is not intentional. It is the honest way they see things. But they see things through a very specific prism.
The Zimmerman story was a example of this. Splicing things Zimmerman said and taking them out of context so it make him look angry. Calling Martin a boy instead of a young man who was taller than Zimmerman. Ignoring the facts that Zimmerman had a broken nose and lacerations on the back of his head consistent with Martin banging his head against the concrete. Not mentioning the witness who said he saw Martin on top of Zimmerman and Zimmerman yelling for help. Saying instead that it could have been Martin yelling for help which is totally inconsistent with the evidence supporting Martin beating Zimmerman up.
The same can be said of the Ferguson shooting where they release the picture of a small like twelve year old boy and didn't mention the fact that he was a huge guy now.
These may not actually be "intentional" by the news because their ideology is shifted so far one way, but it is very telling.
Furthermore, any criticism of Obama instantly was sent through the he must be a racist checker. For Trump, he could find a cure for cancer and the news would lead with a story that Trump hates the environment and will increase global warming.
I bet the media is feels they are honestly be impartial and reporting the news as they see it, but they are only capable of seeing it through their very liberal lenses.

CNN providing debate questions to Hillary, media running articles by the HRC campaign team to see if they approve before publication, asking HRC questions provided by the HRC campaign staff, throwing skepticism to the wind to report negative news related to Trump and then just moving on to the next damaging rumor when the truth comes out (Deutsche Bank most recently), etc.
The media that has no qualms about reporting fake news has chosen sides.

You are wrong to say the media "forced" his DOJ to take any action whatsoever.
I'd actually put most of the blame on Jeff Sessions for lying to congress and causing his own recusal. That's what set it all in motion.
It surely didn't help when Trump said on TV that he fired Comey because of the Russia thing. But I don't expect any of his flock to acknowledge that, either, when they can just blame "muh media".
