If We the People want POTUS Trump to force the IRGC out of power, We the People will have to make our Will more palpably known. My guess here is that We the People, as a collective, want no more violence against the IRGC, and want us to settle this conflict on any terms that will be acceptable to the IRGC and its desire to refrain from attacking oil shipping.
We the People want Peace at Any Price. This is my opinion based on my observations.
We the People may not truly understand the threat. So Me the People will leave it up to the Commander in Chief and his staff to figure this out. Iran will never be pacified and give up on nuclear weapons ambitions unless we make them do it. It's not an easy task.

I was walking down the street today and was thinking about grabbing a bite to eat and then go window shopping but this whole Iran thing has really ruined my life. I just don't have the desire to do anything because this 4 month conflict has absolutely destroyed my life here in America. It's so much worse than Iraq and Afghanistan. Please Mr Trump, please end this 4 month conflict so I can start living my life again!

I just disagree with how this war has been conducted and how it impacts our goals. There is a lot of stake right now and into the future. We can’t be seen as losing this one. I don’t envy the guy given what we’ve been told about the uranium and nukes. But if you’re gonna go in based at least partially on that information then we as a nation need to understand that ground forces are very likely needed and that means paying a very high price. I don’t like that at all. In fact I hate that we are dealing with people that are such snakes that it forces that option into consideration and the families that will bear the brunt of the cost.

I think our little Conservative Bubble here on TD vastly underestimates how very little We the People as a collective really care about attacking Iran. We want no more war and cheap gas AND if inflation isn't under control, We will vote the Dems back into power once the Dems promise "Affordability" to us.
You folks think that We the People, as a collective, are committed to knocking off the IRGC? I'm saying that as a collective We the People have never even heard of the IRGC AND we have no knowledge whatsoever about what Islamic Iran has been up to since 1979. We don't know and in fact we do not care.
Me personally? I want to occupy Iran and De-nazify it like we did to Nazi Germany. The American people are NOT with me on this.

Political expediency is Trumps kryptonite

The USA's domestic political landscape forces Trump to seek "Peace" at this point in time. He knows that there can be no real peace with the IRGC, but, he is compelled by the domestic political situation to make the effort regardless of the reality of the nature of Islamic Iran.
Peace with Islamic Iran?? That is absolutely preposterous and dangerously delusional, if anybody might sincerely believe that this might be possible.

Our men on the ground will annihilate anything within their range.
Our air power can overcome any obstacle and strike with devastating precision.
Our Navy can provide precision missile strikes and 110% enforcement of the blockade.
Or - Trump can keep double talking which is fueling a civil conflict in Iran and it's driving the leftist and panicans here in the US off the cliff.

First off the Senate went back and overturned the war powers act. In 2001 Congress passed the AUMF that gave the President the power to go to war against anyone who helped or helped in planning 9/11. Not only that but it also gave him the power to go to war with anyone that harbored them. Iran has harbored and trained al qaeda. Therefor not only is this war not illegal it is approved by congress.

President Trump knows that he has to 'attempt' to show restraint for the loons on the left & the Europeans. Otherwise, he is a war monger. We can all agree no one wants civilian casualties. However, it may be necessary to irradicate the Iranian leadership.
President Trump & his cabinet knew full well all along that these clowns (Iranian leadership) were not trustworthy and they did not expect the Iranians to abide by any terms. However, given the pathetic support by our European ALLIES, President Trump is having to show extreme patience. Sooner or later, he will reach his tipping point. I believe that day has arrived!

Nah I want to rain fire on the place and not give them a single penny until they agree to a permanent occupation like we did with Japan and Germany
The words 'ceasefire' or 'negotiate' do not register with Iran! How many more times does Trump have to realize this? If nothing else, I agree, bomb the f**k out of them where even if we do pull out and go home, their whole infrastructure is pretty much wiped out for a decade or longer!
