Another mandate victim. questions on how to proceed

unjabbed and proud ATM, but I'm not sure about options going forward.
1. I've looked around a bit for other opportunities, but being in an extremely heavy DoD area there aren't many private sector jobs geared towards my skill set. and the ones I did see were requiring the vax as well. side note - anyone find it.... maddening.. that almost every job posting has a equal opportunity paragraph saying they won't discriminate based on age, sex, race, disabilities, HIV status, favorite color, or hairstyle. but apparently they WILL discriminate based on vax status. anyhow. if I were to make them fire me, the options for new employment seem slim.
2. has anyone had luck with exemptions? I'm slightly worried about health risks with this as I have had an ablation for AFIB a few years ago. and I have a relatively rare type of genetic, adult onset, muscular dystrophy. the ablation fixed the AFIB and I'm still young enough to where the MD isn't debilitating. but both heart and neurological issues seem to be in the poison's crosshairs. main reason (at this point) for not getting it is I'm not cool with the govt making health care decisions for me. I'm fine going religion exemption route too, but don't know which is more likely to be approved.
3. probably the wrong forum for this type of question but unemployment would be a new area for me. I assume I could get benefits if/when they fired me? how long does that last. how much does it typically pay out? how does health insurance work when not employed?
scary and frustrating time for me as I've always excelled at work and to feel like I'll just be discarded because of fcking Brandon is disheartening to say the least.
any help/advice would be appreciated!!

Consult your physician that you see for these issues. If he thinks you should not get the vaccine due to these issues (which is unlikely), then get him to put it in writing and apply for a medical exemption.
If your physician says you are good to go...then do not listen to the wackjobs on this board. It is not "poison". Don't lose your job over it.

Try and doctor shop and get them to write you a simple note that you are medically contraindicated for the COVID-19 vaccine. Simple as that.
And if and when the doctor ask you why are you contraindicated tell him you had COVID and have the antibodies. He'll ask how do you know you have the antibodies. Just tell him that you spent a lot time around friends and family that had COVID and you did not get sick because your antibodies were strong enough to fight off infection.
Some doctors will tell you to frick off but some may not. It's worth a try.
But just keep the medical note simple and straightforward: "Patient so and so is medically contraindicated for the COVID-19 vaccine."
There may be some good doctors out there that realize that losing your job is worse for your health than catching COVID.

Whatever you do, don't wok off the job. Make them fire you.

Well it certainly isn’t a fricking cure for anything either. Also, someone else is attempting to make this choice for him by threatening his livelihood. Don’t you see the slippery slope here?

I just posted that unemployment benefits can be denied by the former employer (at least that was the case in TX when I worked there). Do your homework so you can plan accordingly.

It doesn't matter if it saline solution. No one has the moral right to make you choose between your livelihood and medicine.

Well, first of all, many companies do have requirements for a variety of vaccines.
Second, I am opposed to any government mandating this vaccine.
I support a State like Texas saying "you cannot mandate this".
If you live in a state that hasn't done that, and your company is telling you to get it, that is wrong, I think they shouldn't.
But they have.
So as a practical matter, go get it. Don't lose your job over it. That is the rantings of a nutjob.

If your doctor says it’s safe for you, then just fricking do it man.

True. However to many of these companies this is a new feature.

That all depends on how rigid the company is and how creative you are. The OP has come here for ideas on how to avoid the vax and save his job. I'm pretty sure he already knows that just getting it the vax and saving his job is an option. The point is, he is trying to avoid that option.

Yeah, what do doctors know anyway.

I live in Texas and my employer has stated that mandate is coming. We are a healthcare system that takes Medicare so we somehow fall under the EO. I am not sure if the state overrides the Fed EO but may have to soon find out
