At that time, he publicly addressed the legal unevenness of the handling/resolution of Serbia-Kosovo and NATO intervention there.

You should have stopped there. And laughed.

That was a UN thing. Russia had the ability to veto that operation via the UNSC and did not.

Essentially, he was citing international lawfare ... unique legal excuses applied to Kosovo which had never been applied elsewhere.

Then why isn't he withdrawing Russia from the UN?

NATO has nothing to do with the politics of that situation. They were asked to go in by the UNSC, which Russia approved.

Trying to spin this as a NATO op makes no sense.

Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999) on the situation relating Kosovo

quote:

This resolution provides a framework for the resolution of the conflict in Kosovo by authorising the deployment of an international civilian and military presence that would provide an international transitional administration and security presence that would oversee the return of refugees and the withdrawal of military forces from Kosovo. The resolution also states that the international civilian presence will facilitate a political process to determine the future status of Kosovo.

For some reasons Progressives want to pretend we werent involved.

Theyre simple folk. tOfficial narrative from our govt is easier to believe.

The only good thing to come out of NATO was standardized Ammo.

Who is discussing Zelensky?

He has nothing to do with this discussion. He ousted the guy Putin claims our CIA put in charge of Ukraine.

Orban is not anti Europe. He's not really pro-Putin either. You have to understand Hungary. The Hungarians are a unique ethnicity in Europe. Distinct language and culture. Not Slavic and not German.

They don't like the heavy handed approach coming out of Brussels. No one gave a shite about Orban until he said "frick NO!!!!" to the wave of migrants coming through some years back. Bitch all you want about Orban's hold on power, but he wins fair and square. No one bitched while Merkel was winning successive terms in Germany. No one bitched while Blair was in power for a decade and a half. No one has bitched that the Tories have been running the show for a decade and a half in London.

Orban wins because his opponents are bad politicians. Hungarians vote Fidesz because Fidesz is the least shitty option of shitty options.

The CIA did not frick up Libya. The British and France did that because of Libyan oil. The last thing the CIA wanted was their paid asset to get sodomized on video.

Yeah I thought so. You don't even understand the basics of what is being discussed.

Hilldawg laughed about that whole thing, so it made me think the goal was just to destroy the country.

Back to Ukraine and our meddling, this is so disgusting.
quote:

I think we're in play. The Klitschko [Vitaly Klitschko, one of three main opposition leaders] piece is obviously the complicated electron here. Especially the announcement of him as deputy prime minister and you've seen some of my notes on the troubles in the marriage right now so we're trying to get a read really fast on where he is on this stuff. But I think your argument to him, which you'll need to make, I think that's the next phone call you want to set up, is exactly the one you made to Yats [Arseniy Yatseniuk, another opposition leader]. And I'm glad you sort of put him on the spot on where he fits in this scenario. And I'm very glad that he said what he said in response.

Nuland: Good. I don't think Klitsch should go into the government. I don't think it's necessary, I don't think it's a good idea.

Pyatt: Yeah. I guess... in terms of him not going into the government, just let him stay out and do his political homework and stuff. I'm just thinking in terms of sort of the process moving ahead we want to keep the moderate democrats together. The problem is going to be Tyahnybok [Oleh Tyahnybok, the other opposition leader] and his guys and I'm sure that's part of what [President Viktor] Yanukovych is calculating on all this.

Nuland: [Breaks in] I think Yats is the guy who's got the economic experience, the governing experience. He's the... what he needs is Klitsch and Tyahnybok on the outside. He needs to be talking to them four times a week, you know. I just think Klitsch going in... he's going to be at that level working for Yatseniuk, it's just not going to work.
