At the end of the video they said, “he called him a n***er” so I’m guessing there’s some context missing and what provoked the attack wasn’t recorded or shared.
Makes sense

Blacks hate Asians more that they hate Whites and Hispanics. Because here is a small minority community that works really hard, is law abiding and is highly successful. Also the cultural differences between Blacks and Asians is far more than with any other community.

Let it not be said that I don’t have standards: I’m here to eat crow. Apparently that guy that was assaulted wasn’t Asian at all but Hispanic and he actually used the N-Bomb. I’ve just heard people calling Asians racist so many times that when anyone accuses someone of saying it and covering it up with their native language. I will continue to give Chinese and Taiwanese people the benefit of the doubt that they’re using their most commonly used word instead of a racist slur.
Regardless though, it still doesn’t excuse the violence against the guy even if he is openly racist against black people. It’s a free country and you should be allowed to say whatever the hell you want. So my bad here. Twitter

How come blacks can call each other this name but nobody else better even think it?

Why would the Asian man bother the black man who is just trying to attend class at the local college?

Without knowing what really happened, I said from the get-go that it didn't matter. The reaction isn't appropriate for the offense.
This level of criminality isn't never okay. Just walk away if the guy is being a dick.

I rode the J train once in 45 years. Never again.
There are a lot of Chinese moving into Brooklyn and there are some very nasty tribal neighborhoods there.

So your ability to be butthurt over a word is more important then my first amendment rights?

Yet "white fragility" is a common term.

It’s totally cool to beat someone half to death for saying something mean.

Why do you think the right to free speech is under attack here? The victim isn’t going to jail for using a racial slur, nor should he. I know the assault was way beyond what was called for by any reasonable measure, but calling someone a n****r is still wrong. Words do have consequences, and that’s not a defense for physical violence like why we saw in the video. You say the wrong shite to someone and you’re liable to catch an arse whooping. It’s still assault and should be punished, but let’s not pretend the victim here dindu nuthin.

Wearing short skirts has consequences too, huh?
Stop dehumanizing black people, they have agency like everyone else.

I don't think a single person in this thread disagrees with this.

Words do have consequences
Those consequences shouldn't involve an arse beating.

Then why bring it up?

It's really simple: don't assault someone because they hurled an insult.
There are plenty of reasons to resort to physical violence. This isn't one.

Any updates on the victim?

In every idiots' defense here, we have no idea what was said, despite one Chinese language pseudo-expert saying he was 99.999999% sure that the Asian guy said a Chinese word.
We don't know if the Asian guy said "that" in Chinese.
We don't know if he just called the guy the N word.
We don't know if the attacker tried to talk him into anal sex before the incident.
We don't know a lot. What we DO know is that the attack was clearly unprovoked to that level and the perp needs to be tried for attempted murder.
Beyond that, the beating was attempted murder and we have little facts beyond that, and that the perp apparently has the IQ of a pet rock.

If he was Chinese, I’d stand by that. Didn’t consider he was from another race. Plus if a Chinese person is actually saying racist bullshite, you’re not going to understand it at all.
