I guess you believe Trump actually committed 30+ felonies.
I’m sure the consensus is that Trump belongs with these guys working on The Farm. After all, he shouldn’t have committed the crimes if he didn’t want to do the time. .

I don’t operate under that assumption.
Exactly. There have been people that spent 30+ years in prison before being exonerated. It seems that's no big deal to some people around here.

I always assume these headlines are about the African country.

High compared to what?

No Cubbies lite I was referring to your comment concerning this site and people not giving a frick about innocent people in prison

Um, read this thread. You’ll see the abundant concern for the wrongfully convicted.

I love your selective application of your stupidity.

That's quite evident in this thread. Look at the downvotes to the comments of anyone saying not everyone in prison is actually guilty. And then there's the "well about those who are guilty but in prison" comments.
Why didn't you ask for a source from someone claiming wrong convictions are less than 1%?

Do you think it's right that the state of Alabama refused to compensate someone wrongly convicted and who sat on death row for 30 years? How about the cop that arrested him saying "maybe you didn't do it but just consider it taking one for your homies"? You think this is an isolated case?

Because anyone with common sense knows there are some innocent people in prison.
Does that mean they can't work fields in 88 degree weather?

That's terrible but has nothing to do with the vast majority of guilty and convicted in prison.

The problem isn't working. It's the conditions. I don't want the risk of an innocent person dying of dehydration or developing skin cancer.

Lol so contract all jobs at the prison?

So, if you knew the person was guilty, you'd have no issue with the working conditions?
Is that what you are saying?

What's so difficult about providing them with clean water and proper protection? The purpose of prison is to protect society from dangerous people. Supposedly it is for rehabilitation but the US certainly doesn't even attempt that. You can lock them away but the government is responsible for their well-being.

I don't think letting criminals go free, or reducing punishment, is the right remedy for the judicial system being corrupt at times.
The remedy for a corrupt system is to punish the corrupt people who perform unlawful acts of corruption.
