WSJ: ABA scraps LSAT
The frick? I mean we don't need any more lawyers as is, they are a source for many problems in our world.

A range of law professors and prospective law students urged the ABA to eliminate the testing requirement.
In one written comment, Fariha Amin, a full-time worker and mother to a 6-year-old son, said her LSAT scores remain a hurdle to getting into law school. She took tutoring courses, but her scores still weren’t high enough to be admitted, she told the ABA, urging them to eliminate the requirement.
“I would hate to give up on my dream of becoming a family lawyer, just due to not being able to successfully handle this test,” Ms. Amin wrote.
The Clinical Legal Education Association, which represents law professors, said the proposal will give schools flexibility to address “the persistent lack of racial diversity” in the legal field. While the LSAT may predict law school success to some extent, “it is a tool for predicting a narrow type of academic, not professional success,” the group said.
Coalitions of admissions officers and university deans warned of unintended consequences if the testing requirement is dropped.
“We believe that removal of the testing requirement could actually increase the very disparities proponents seek to reduce by increasing the influence of bias in the review process,” Kristen Theis-Alvarez, assistant dean of admissions and financial aid at University of California, Berkeley School of Law, said in a submission on behalf of dozens of university officials.
They argued that eliminating the test could lead to an overreliance on grade-point average and other criteria they say could be “infused with bias.”

The LSAT is the dumbest of tests for professional schools, and by a lot, but we don't need to lower the bar (no pun intended) any further to get a JD.

They will literally do everything to avoid admitting the real issue.
Just wait until medical boards are done away with in the name of racial equity.
Crash and burn baby, welcome to Sudan.

What is worrisome is this can snowball to other professions. Can you imagine ditching the MCAT for med school?
WTF?
WTF?

I remember when my teachers used to talk about when we get to the real world people wouldn't just give us things, we would have to earn it. In only a matter of 25 years, all that used to be is no more.

Well 2020-2021, most law schools waived LSAT scores because of COVID, so maybe the 2 years of nation wide data, they concluded the test are worthless and doesn’t affect your ability to learn law. As these COVID students are graduating and taking the Bar, they are probably seeing that the LSAT didn’t have any affect on their Bar passage rates.

Will law schools still require the test for admissions?
The disparity between the law schools that will require the LSAT admissions test and those that don't will grow much wider. I guess the law schools that don't require the test will just become paralegal feed schools.

I wanted to be an Astronaut. Unfortunately I didn't pass. I failed everything but my date of birth. Perhaps NASA can just get rid of that requirement because I really, really want to be an astronaut.

I have a half baked and trite thesis that history is repeating itself and we are just entering the Dark Ages again. We are 100%, unquestionably, on the decline culturally, morally and in terms of intellect.

The world needs ditch diggers too.

MCAT next?
Might as well. Probably 95% of the people that couldn't score decently high on the MCAT would fail med school anyway.

Selfishly, I want it to continue to be required because I had to suffer through that crap and so should everyone else who wants to go to law school.
