Do you know Eustace on Mountain Men? He is one of my heroes. He needs to work smarter and not harder but he can get it done.

He’s further north, but plenty of men like him around here.

I do know a few guys from Moonshiners, though.

Watch that one too. I would never take a drink of shine but those boys know how to produce. Scripted and it's probably water in the quart jars but it's interesting how they get by.

Compassion for the Weak (weakness) is problematic; even more so in a pure Democratic form of Governance. To the degree that a Society/Government is compassionate, over time, the Weak (weakness) multiplies. They are weak, for a reason. That reason, is highly problematic.

Jesus Christ commanded His Flock to care for and cultivate the "weaker brethren"; "brethren" being a critical qualifier. Communism/Socialism supposedly addressed this moral dilemma; implementing 'work' as a civic duty as a qualifier for Government-guaranteed and 'equal' subsidization. 'Economic Equality", as it were.

The unmotivated Weak (non-productive) show up, with no need to be productive, or improve (immoral?)...and the unmotivated Strong (productive/naturally creative, moral) become unmotivated, as their reward for productivity goes away. Society stagnates, and becomes dysfunctional. This is not rocket science; it's common sense.

No matter what happens re America, the above Idea will never change. However, "where there is no vision, my people die"; and societies which lack wisdom...indeed go down. America may go down, but the Principles which America are built on...are eternal; they don't need "saving". The Idea that an Individual will be "rewarded according to their works" will always hold true; Spiritual and Worldly.

I think Humanity bases it's 'Prime 'Directive' on Love, then real compassion will rule, and they will refine and synthesize the seemingly polar principles of Marxism and Capitalism into a more perfect system. With High Tech playing a big role. But not with the current populous/mindsets; dysfunction and human instinct will remove a lot. What else is new. Like the Salmon, the current group struggles upstream, lays the eggs for the next generation...and then dies off. What happens to that next generation is up to them, and ultimately Mother Nature/God. God is Love. No Love=Fermi Paradox.

They’re making moonshine. Mark Rogers and his crew are the guys I know. The show way over states the way police pursue them. At least in this area. That’s not to say they won’t arrest them and confiscate their stash if they’re pulled over or something, but they’re not actively pursuing them into the woods and looking for still sites to destroy.
