It doesn’t make sense for Soros to fund this. I guarantee that the California liberals don’t want this mob army; uh “caravan” to land in their home districts, but that appears to be where they are headed.
I sure as hell wouldn’t head to Texas at the start of hunting season.

I'm not hardcore Trump supporter although I did vote for the man.
Are you for open borders? I've always found this to be a very curious position for the left. I can't think of a single benefit for the country.

No, I’m not. I’m for comprehensive reform that entails a tough, stringent road to citizenship along with increased border security, maybe even a wall.

The point of this is to get some illegals shot on camera for the media to pound us with right at the election time. At the least some women and children getting hosed or dog bit.

It would be incredibly stupid for anyone wanting the Democrats to win in this election to encourage any migrants let alone a migrant caravan.
On the other hand, it would be smart strategy for the Russians or Republicans to do so.
Actually I rather doubt there was encouragement from anyone North of the border. The conditions they're fleeing from are enough "encouragement".

No reasonable person is for totally open borders. The economic and socio-economic conditions in Mexico and Central America are such that advertising open borders would lead to unmanageable levels of immigrants.
That being said, reducing the level of legal immigration to 25,000 per year is too low. It should be increased to recent historical levels.
As to the current migrant caravan, if we let them all make hardship asylum claims it will encourage similar caravans in the future, and probably would be an unmanageable situation as to processing those claims.
I would determine the number of immigrants that could be reasonably processed and let them make asylum claims, and turn the others away.
