Not in the sense that it hurt the military operation. It went off as planned with no effect from the leak.
But it is an error that needs to be cleaned up. It gives the theater kids on the left fuel to huff and puff over in their meaningless drama.

Exactly. Someone fricked up and accidently included a journalist in a group chat. Some cabinet members said some things that many of us agree with (we're tired of subsidizing the Euros). Hillary's server was far more egregious since it was an effort to hide communications, was completely insecure, and was used for years.
This was a conversation that lasted for a few hours and was not at risk of foreign agent access. It is still a frick up however to accidentally include a leftist reporter and somebody should lose their job, but nobody of real importance will.
