I am sad he is 75 and not 35. Maybe people would listen now...

Imagine how much better off black families and neighborhoods would be if most black men followed the above men as role models instead of some ghetto rappers

Not much consolation IMO. And he can be given credit for BLM, stalling NASA, ACA, Obergefell, and I'm probably missing several.
Referring to Britain, Adam Smith once said, "There's a great deal of ruin in a nation." What he meant was that the decline of a powerful nation is very prolonged as experienced by human observers. That's the case here too. We've been tearing this one down for probably a century, maybe more. Most of our dysfunction is accepted as normal, because we're immersed in it. Obama was more of a late stage symptom than a cause of our decline. The die was already cast.

My Dad worked on Alan’s presidential campaigns. He knew him personally and Alan would stay at his house (his wife’s house but close enough) the times he came out here. Mr. Keyes was unapologetically conservative. We used to test out tv ads for feedback at what is now my house. I still have a Keyes for President button.

Early in his career in the cia, he used to wear a beard and go on tv as a character named “osama bin laden”

The first black president that’s actually black and a republican…. Oh man.
Mass suicide by the Left.

Ha! Good catch. I refuse to use spell checker in my feeble attempts to exercise my brain ... but sometimes I fail to proofread and am too quick to hit the Submit button rather than the Preview button.
It's exacerbating.
Thank you for catching that. :::::: embarrassed ::::::

Clinton
Buchanan was way out ahead of this and was also called a racist.
quote:
Buchanan described the 1992 Democratic Convention in New York as a "giant masquerade ball" where "20,000 liberals and radicals came dressed up as moderates and centrists".
They still dress up as centrists, we see it on this very board.

Awesome story ... thanks for sharing.
I voted for him in the primaries twice. Acrually attended the GOP debate here, which he won, during the McCain/Palin run.
Keyes is a great man. Would have made a solid POTUS imho but .... bad timing.

My Dad was a substitute delegate in 1996, if memory serves. Dad didn't like the establishment that we had here in Fresno County so he and 8 of his friends took them on. They spent weekends gathering support behind the scenes and then on the last day to file they did so the existing members didn't have additional time to plan their attacks. They ended up winning 8 of 9 elections for the republican central committee of Fresno County. He became president of the committee. Dad lead the charge to turn the county Red, which happened. He did it with constant outreach efforts by canvassing neighborhoods to explain what the republicans were for. I still can't wrap my head around what he was doing. Full time job, very involved with the Church and helping guide the county's republicans. The moral of the story is that a regular guy can get involved and change the direction of your town for the better. He then got deeply involved with election integrity and roped me into it. The voter rolls are as bad, if not worse, than what you read about. At least that's my experience out here.
