Really good question. I tried and tried to get info on this nozzle Timmons but came up with very little on his previous background or politics.

What I DID find, however is telling enough:

Robert 'Bobby' Timmons said himself he is working with "Mom's Demand Action" which is an anti-gun organization and about as leftist as you can get.

Alabama's got some surprising gun laws, like not being able to have a loaded weapon in your vehicle if you dont have a valid CCL

Dude has been in the position since 1975??? Or just serving the association and or as an active sheriff that long?

If the guy doesn't retire soon, the the people of AL don't care. That will be the best sign. As he should be getting calls to do so, as he doesn't rep the sentiment if the people and his position he should. Move out to CA with these ideas.

I think you are mistaken. I have 2 classmates that ended up in LE, we're talking White County here, home of Harding University, and "drive to Augusta if you want to buy alcohol."

Both openly state that they are strong 2A supporters, but after repeated questioning, I could not get either of them to give their hypothetical support to an effort to do away with school "gun free" zones, which I call killing fields. In the end, they do not support the 2A.

Timmons is a peculiar sort of stereotype of a Sherriff.

You could say he is hiding the fact that Alabama Sherriff's are able to keep permit funds and do what he wishes with the money, including taking it for himself personally.

The inmate food accounts are the same way -and people have been trying yo do away with that for over a decade now. I dont know how that is going.

So it is NOT for any issue of guns rights it is for stuffing Bobby's pockets with money.

and Alabama suffers on from this legacy of Sherriff abuses.

Alabama Sherriffs are a pathetic lot of pilfering thugs

Like I said, same with inmate food funds... Sherriffs in North Alabama have been removed when discovered how much money they were pilfering while feeding inmates frozen corndogs (Tigah bait! Tigah bait! Tigah bait!) and nothing but frozen corn dogs for months at a time. Sherrifs formerly could do whatever they wanted with these funds - a lot pocketed it.

Remind me again - who are the criminals?

Ana Franklin of Morgan County ran against her opponent for this; and when she got in started doing it herself, until prosecuted for failing to file personal taxes..

Unbelieveable! At least this grift has been banned.. An"investment"! An investment in a local used car lot that eventually failed and pursued for other fraud!

Thank goodness this trash and this despicable law have been removed..
