Surprised this hasnt been posted on this board -not shocked.

quote:

“To be 100 percent honest with you, when I made the post I wasn’t even thinking about that connection,” Dismukes said. “You know, hey, that’s on me. That wasn’t even running through my mind. There were two things that weren’t running through my mind and that’s one, the passing of Representative John Lewis and the next is Nathan Bedford Forrest’s connection to the Ku Klux Klan.

He spoke they're solely on Forests service as a Confederate leader, not as a KKK leader.

But Democrats aren't smart enough to distinguish between the two.

Forrest actually tried to disband the KKK when he saw they were starting to use lynchings to further their goals. When he couldn't he left the organization.

But, it wasn't very smart of Will to put this on Facebook in today's political climate.

Everyone here in the state is aware that Will is a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. I don't think anyone really cares about this other than the cancel culture mob.

Lies!

Even if it was known, he shouldve known better to post this in todays climate (as another poster stated).

Some state republicans are already thinking about cancelling him before his term is over.

He was on local radio explaining why he is a member of SCV. Everyone that knows anything about state politics is aware of this fact. It is no secret. LOL! Please try again.

Other Republicans cancelling him would be par for course. I hope he tells them to go frick themselves. If I find out the Repub from my district is part of the "cancelling" crowd, I'm doing everything in my power to have them voted out of office.

Agreed. His only mistake was posting it on FB. I hope he doesn’t give in to the pressure from the cancel culture goons... and resigns.

How could any politician be stupid enough to pose in front of a Confederate flag in today's political climate and then post it on Facebook?

Hell, if he were alive today, even Jesse Helms wouldn't purposely stand for a picture in front of a Confederate flag.

You do know that late in life, Nathan Bedford Forrest had a change of heart and spent his last years helping, educating and trying to advance black people, right?

No, you probably don’t. Those little facts always get glossed over. Doesn’t help the narrative any.
