Air Force Two Just hit birds and returned to the airport

But there was a line about the cargo plane Harrison Ford escaped to changing its call sign to Air Force One once the president was on board. Same thing would apply to VP with AF2

Not necessarily. Depends on the "owner" of the spacecraft. Could be NASA One or Space Force One or even Air Force One.
The President does fly on Marine One often.
President Bush was aboard Navy One briefly, for the "Mission Accomplished" speech.
Presidents can also ride on "Army One" and "Coast Guard One". And who knows, maybe even "Merchant Marines One".

my understanding (may not be correct)
any Airplane carrying President is Air Force One.
even if it is owned by Billy Bob the Crop Duster.
likewise any chopper is Marine One
any boat is Navy One
etc

so, i just learned that was the only use ever of Navy One (the call sign) to date.
kinda interesting that’s been the only time a US President has flown in a plane owned by the Navy.

The Army use to provide the Executive Helicopters for the President. The designation of Air Force-Army-Navy-Marine is dependent on the branch of the Aircraft and the number is designated by the position (One-Pres, Two-VP). When the VP tours a disaster area in a Helicopter, he usually doesn't fly in the Marine Executive Aircraft and flys in locally provided A/C (ie National Guard). Again, the designation is for ATC and is not a protocol for the military.
