500 dollars? Is that annually?

So for part of the year she works a full time schedule?
When she gets home after 5:15, she isn’t done working. She has to teach a full day the next day. That requires preparation. If she has grading then there’s even more. If she’s also a coach, then she has even more work.

If I’m wrong, please tell me how.

Wait you were serious? I figured that was sarcasm, at least hoped.
My typical day is 6:30-4
Monday-Thursday I do not have a planning as I either have a meeting, PLC, or some kind of data share. I tend to grade in the morning the day after or on Fridays. I rarely if ever bring work home unless it is a test I have to give on a Friday.
Consider I do my planning on Sunday which is just to give me an idea of my week and then I actually plan for my day each morning I don't need to spend countless hours on it. Some people need to have every detail of their day scripted, I think that is overboard, that teaching should be more fluid and less rigid.

Nope
But it sounds like you have everything handled pretty well. I’m sensitive on this topic since I had close relatives who were inner city teachers. They put up with...a lot...

Lol at those times being brag worthy.

Yeah, I have a child who is now teaching inner city kids. Quote of the year, "I love my kids, but DAMN they dumb."

So, your wife is an outliner, and at worst she is working 50 hrs a week and gets extra compensation.
That's why the 96 hrs a week comment is so laughable.

For teachers though, who apparently work 96 hours or so per week, that's only 10 cents per hour. A slap in the face
Don’t forget those grueling hours they put in over the summer

Teachers are a preferred scratching post for this board, don't take them seriously.

The state only pays a portion of a teacher’s salary. My question is how much. I’d like to see the percentage the state pays.
After a 1000 dollar raise, another 500 dollars could be a decent bump.
Remember the local districts give raises and there are also longevity raises, etc. It is not like the state is the only pay a teacher receives.

This is why I hate single issue voters. Can’t tell you how many teachers I’ve talked to that voted for JBE strictly on teacher raises. Without surprise he got their vote and won’t even honor the pledge.

I guess what I’m trying to say is I hope my wife never reads your post.
I can’t believe they are forcing your wife to coach!!!
