I bet Manchin wouldn't have supported any of this if he was on the ballot this November. He'd better hope his fellow West Virginians have a short memory.

At least it will give the Republicans an issue on which to campaign. "Vote for me and I'll repeal whatever this bill is called!" Kind of like how they ran on repealing Obamacare. That worked out well, didn't it.

Well, you say that inflation is a tax on everyone. What we want to do with this bill is impose a tax that acts like inflation but isn’t impactful to everyone, just the rich. So this act converts inflation into a permanent tax on the rich, which reduces inflation. That’s why it’s called the Inflation Reduction Act.
