I'm a white guy, and I've been pulled over for, "Driving while suspicious" more times than you would believe.
All of the stops resulted in one ticket (I didn't have my current insurance card) and no shootings.

Of the thousands of annual interactions between black men and police every year, a tiny fraction of a percent end up with a dead person. Yes maybe the number should be zero (simply being unarmed doesn’t tell the whole story) but get real. That’s an impossible standard.
In no other sphere is perfection the only acceptable outcome. Planes crash but we still fly. Teachers frick their students but we still have schools.
The nationwide tantrum being thrown right now is all out of proportion to the problem. And you know it.

I honestly don’t understand how anyone doesn’t see this as a problem; the cops shouldn’t be shooting unarmed people at all. Race is a total non-issue there.
But there is no way you can deny the video evidence of police abusing power all over the place. The amount of money that goes to the police vs education and health is not designed to help the community.
The vast majority of these are repeat offenders who were involved in criminal acts at the time of their unfortunate deaths.
Sorry if I dont immediately take to the streets.

When I was younger it happened to me in my own neighborhood.
I lived in Livingston Parish at the time and had all my teeth. Understood the issue.

It really sucks for the regular law abiding black dude, but if black men as a group didn’t commit such an inordinate percentage of crime, black men wouldn’t be held to a higher level of suspicion. Just the way it is.

I'm as white as can be and I've been harassed by the police many times. And I'm a total nerd that never got sent to the office kindergarten through 12th grade, so it's not like I'm a person that doesn't follow the rules.
Also Harvard did a study that showed that African Americans aren't targeted by the police anymore than any other race, and that white people are actually targeted more. The study also showed that it's rare that lethal force is used on African Americans, and that it's more commonly used on white people than black.

Happened to me one time as a white kid in a black neighborhood. I was sightseeing in the ghetto to be totally honest. White cop pulled me over and asked what I was doing in that neighborhood. He assumed I was buying drugs, I believe. Because there was a lot of drug activity in the neighborhood.

Let’s say this is true. The only members of the middle class that get harassed are the black ones. How far down the priority list of issues in the black community do you think this particular issue should fall? I’m not saying it should be completely ignored, but Is this the issue that they should be destroying, beating, stealing and killing over?
