Or rather, I understand why but I don't see they wouldn't get this out of Trump since he was willing to do it before.
Simple.
Liberals idea of compromise is, they get all they want. The other team gets nothing they want and if it doesn't go like that they do nothing and program their NPC vote bots to broadcast the message that the the other team will not work with them.

Trump needs to declare a national emergency and use that as a reason to build the wall.
The next move will be a challenge in the courts.
He will eventually win the challenge.
This is why he needs to declare the emergency ASAP so the court game can run its course.
If I was Trump, I would speed the court process up and have it go to SCOTUS by telling America that we will keep the Govt shut down until SCOTUS makes its ruling. That will put it all on the fast track.
The next move will be a challenge in the courts.
He will eventually win the challenge.
